In the field of short-distance optical fiber transmission, OCI1500 can be used for link diagnosis and fault location. Figure 1 shows a fiber link with break points, splice points, and optical devices such as optical switches, couplers, and gratings. Figure 2 shows the measurement result of the link using OCI1500.

The reflection characteristic represented by the Y-axis can be used to match each peak with each structure in the link, and the specific position of each structure can be accurately determined by distance value represented by the X-axis. Compare figure 1 with figure 2, all special structures in the fiber link are reflected in the measurement result.
